SAVAGE DOG FILMS RELOADS
2008 marks a
new beginning for indie film producers
Savage Dog Film & Digitals Ltd. It's the 5th anniversary
for the company and it might just be the most interesting
year so far!
Aarhus, Denmark - February
1st, 2008. Exactly five years ago, Savage Dog Films saw
daylight for the very first time. The company that, in the
entertainment industry, is known for being
whole-heartedly devoted to producing science fiction, horror
and thrillers, rises to the occasion and
aims to be one of the key players in the independent
film
industry.
For the past five
years, film guru Michael Lee has been guiding the dogs from an
early fusion between five companies to being a household
name among film journalists. "Michael has done so many great
things for our company and it is with great sadness that we
announce his resignation", says Dustin Johnson (Savage Dog
Productions). Since October 1st, 2007, Savage Dog Film &
Digitals Ltd. has been in the hands of Lennie Overgaard who,
as Michael Lee, holds a great history with Savage Dog
Films.
Lennie Overgaard has
spent the last 5 years with Savage Dog Films and was
responsible for writing and directing such films as Rip Cage
and Seraphim (due out Summer 2008). He has also worked
with companies such as Lionsgate Films, ARFilm
Productions and Q-Lee Entertainment. Lennie Overgaard has a
background in Sales and Marketing and worked with, among
others, Vincenzo Natali, Ernie Barbarash and Sean Hood on such
films as Cube 2: Hypercube and Cube Zero (both for Lionsgate
Films).
Lennie Overgaard
continues, "Horror has been great for us, but it's time for us
to look for a wider audience and that is why we've decided not
to limit ourselves to doing horror and thrillers only. I've
been wanting to to drama and action for some time now and
Savage Dog Films provides me with some great opportunites to
do so. We've got some very talented people to work with and
the right tools to make all of that happen."
"Our digital diivision
is going to play a much bigger role in our jobs now as
we've previously used them for internal projects only. We've
been out shopping for lots of goodies and Savage Dog Digitals
now has a wide range of equipment that is on par with the
big ones in the business."
Lennie Overgaard
has also decided to invest in smaller and
up-and-coming companies and has teamed up with, among
others, the Canadian art and web firm Shade.ca with
whom he has worked before.
"Our anniversary is
marked by a new, strong brand based on the Dog. An entirely
new website reflecting our new goals has been launched
and our new opening logo bearing our updated company
colors will be presented very soon", says Lennie
Overgaard.
